Please help with mystery word
Hello,
I am new to these forums and also the Russian language. I am currently taking classes and trying to socialize with as many local people whom are native speakers. That being said i have a question regarding a specific word. I am unable to write it in Cyrillic because i am so new to the language but i would like to phonetically sound it in English and hopefully someone will be able to make the leap. Mind you i am an non british native english speaker.
The word.
It sounds to my ears like
Zaighic
I have been told that the first letter in cyrillic is з
Re: Please help with mystery word
Зайчик? Little hare, jackrabbit. In this form it is often used to express endearment.
Re: Please help with mystery word
"gh" is not a good conctruction to reproduce phonetics. "Though tough cough and hiccough plough me through." :)
If it is "Зайчик" (Zaychik) it can have the following meanings:
1)little hare
2)darling
3)plash of light
