Well, All I know here is that пусть is considered "let". I've seen it described as a third person imperative(second person being the normal,"Говори","Смотрите") . I believe4 uses this. The song lyric: "...Пусть горит любовь...", which I believe translates somewhere along the lines of "Let love burn.". As far as "Let me.." there's probably some verb that is commonly used there... or like 4 different verbs...

4. Пусть он сходит в кино.
5. Давайте/давай я объясню. / Дай мне объяснить.
6. Знаешь, что вчера произошло? Дай-ка догадаюсь.
7. Позвольте мне показать вам улицу. / Давайте я покажу вам улицу.
8. Позвольте мне показать вам улицу. / Давайте я покажу вам улицу.

Roughly speaking, пусть = let him/her/it/them, давай/давайте/дай = let me/us. These words express the idea of "letting something" in general way. In different situations, other words may be preferable, such as "позвольте", "разрешите".
