Could one use the verb нарваться to express the meaning "I hit my leg against the bed" or "I bumped my arm on the bookshelf", etc.?

This is a verb that I heard in the Russian version of a song from the musical Chicago -- the English lyrics "He had it coming, he only had himself to blame" are translated as Он сам нарвался, и в этом нашей нет вины. According to my dictionary, a possible translation of нарваться can be "to bump one's head." But what is the most general meaning of the verb?
