Thread: How to translate - а держи то себе

In the sentence:
Дай мне, пожалуйста, это меню, а держи то себе.

Does it mean:
Give me this menu and hold that one for me. OR
Give me this menu and hold that one yourself?

Seems to me to be quite a complex sentence. What does "себе" refer to? The menu or to me?

There's something wrong with this sentence. It's wrong word order probably:

Дай мне, пожалуйста, (вот) это меню, а это держи ("возьми" would be better) себе.

Give me this menu please and take this one for yourself.

And when saying that you should actually point at the menu you want to take and hand the one you are giving away.

Give me this menu and hold that one yourself? ОК

Фраза корявая, русский скажет: Дай мне, пожалуйста, это меню, а себе оставь то.

Yes, you're probably right, the sentence does look out of place. I took this sentence from Schaumm's Grammar as I did not quite understand it, but tried my best to translate. Guess I did not miss the mark by much.
