Hello Fellow Earthlings:

I realize how confusing motion verbs can be to a non-native Russian speaker. And I realize that the most confusing part is learning when to use which form of the verb (such as multi-directional, uni-directional, imperfective, perfective ). Well luckily, I have found a great source of information, and have compiled it into a table. Please let me know if this helps you. Have fun, and good luck! ( I only used the verbs идти/ходить and ехать/ездить for now, because I just want to see how well this goes over before I compile another table with all the other verbs of motion.)

****Note: I find more often than not, that people will use uni-directional present when they are talking about when they are going. (сегодня вечером, я иду в кино. ) But when they are just going in general, I think its safe to use the other way (я пойду в кино)

And please note also, that I did not put when to use шёл/ехал. This is usually used when you are on your way somewhere, and something else happens. (он шёл в библиотеку, когда начался дождь) You also use it when describing how they did something (он медленно шёл в библиотеку.)

Well I hope this helps in some small way at least.

If you like it, please let me know.
