I am discovering that the english word "challenge" is quite a weak word. That is, its regular english usage is not in keeping with its original and more precise meaning -- the invitation to duel, or a court response in more civil quarters...
I formed the sentences, "It is a difficult challenge to meet the expected expenses." Also, "It has been a challenge for him to get out and around town on the icy roads." In each instance, the computer was not able to arrive at a proper russian word for "challenge".
Can anyone suggest the most appropriate russian word to use?
Thanks in advance for the assistance.
