    The difference?

Hey! Can anyone tell me the difference between these 2 sentences?
    Ty podorog Boga dlya menya
Ty podorog dlya menya ot Boga <-- I know this one is the right one grammatically but can anyone tell me why the first one is not possible and is there a meaning difference between the 2?

    Thnx in advance!

I think both versions are OK, and they mean "You are God's gift to me."
Well, I don't know what to say. I want to say thanks to the Academy, to Mama, to Papa and to my dog. I love you all.

The first one sounds weird for me. The second actually too, although it is better. The normal sentence is: Ты мне подарок от Бога (Ty mne podarok ot Boga).
But anyway I'd say it another way, maybe "Мне тебя Бог послал" (depending on the context).
In Russian, all nationalities and their corresponding languages start with a lower-case letter.

The first version is inadequate. Don't listen to charlestonian, he forgot Russian long time ago.

Оба выражения правильные и понятные. Имеют одинаковый смысл.

Неужели вам ничего не режет в первом варианте?

Может, они и понятные, и грамматически правильные, но звучат они как-то не совсем по-русски, особенно первое. А вообще, нужен контекст.

Если в первом выражении поставить "для меня" на второе место, то звучит конечно лучше. Но ошибки в любом случае нет. Для изучающего русский язык 5 баллов.

I love it when native speakers can't agree on what sounds "right".

Вообще, обычно говорят "Тебя мне бог послал".

The sentences are grammatically correct and they are understandable, but they don't sound natural and they are not ok. Depending on the context, they can sound really odd.

And, as I said and as Ramill said, the common sentence is "мне тебя Бог послал".

Your "Queen's English?" Never cared for it. I live in America.

It's becoming more and more clear that the "context" in which something sounds really odd is when a non-native is saying it.

This isn't just self-pity talking, well... maybe it is.

    +1

    А теперь напиши это по-английски.
