    Ждать

I have translated ждать so many times and each time it seems as if the object I translate is always in the wrong case.

I have always thought that ждать was followed by the genitive case, but frequently I have seen the accusative also.

How does one when to use either case?

Please help me with this; this is very essential to the language!!!

    Thanks for you help!

I think genetive is not used with proper names, for example Я жду Лены or Я жду Васи would sound unusual to me, I'm not sure but I think it even refers to all animated nouns. I don't know if there's a strict rule about it though.

Вот это да, я так люблю себя. И сегодня я люблю себя, ещё больше чем вчера, а завтра я буду любить себя to ещё больше чем сегодня. Тем что происходит,я вполне доволен!

Sure it is not. That's why both cases are more or less equal here. Though my personal preference would be "жду ответа".
