    contemplate

    Hello guys.

When I want to express in russian the meaning of the process when a person sits and thinks about something I don't have a specific verb in my mind.
When I say "think", I mean trying to understand a situation, behavior, fact etc. in order to take action or not. Differently "active and focused thinking". If I am correct this process is called "contemplation".

In russian three words come in my mind:
    1. мыслить
    2. размыщлять
    3. задумываться

How wrong I am in my translation?
Чем больше слов, тем меньше они стоят.

    1. Мыслить is right but it is used very rare.
    2. РазмыШлять -great
    3. Задумываться has a litlle bit another meaning. It is like to dive into smbd thoughts, to start thinking.
    4.Обдумывать
    5. Осмысливать

Colloquial : обмозговывать, ломать себе голову, раскидывать умом.
There are many synonyms but some are not interchangeable, so it is better to see a context in order to choose a proper verb.
