Note, by the way, that in Russian it is atypical to use personal pronouns just because. In situations like "I carried it it my car" or "I love my brother" you usually omit "my", or "his", or whatever it is (assuming that there's no other person whose car/mother it can be). Sometimes it is used with relatives, though, and, of course, you have a reflexive pronoun "свой" that acts the same as "себя" - refers to the subject of a clause it is used in.
