Thread: по-другому

In the following phrase I can't understand well the meaning of "по-другому ":
'В России пожилые люди часто считают, что всё стало по-другому, всё стало хуже, чет раньше.'
1) Does it mean "everything has changed / become according to different laws, to different ways" or "has changed in favour of other people"?
2) The accent stays on the adjective / pronoun : по-друг

I have found this words meaning: differently, in an other way.
