    поправка vs. поправление

    What is the difference between the two? Supposedly they both mean correction, and come from the word поправить, and I'm sure that there is a difference in usage, maybe поправка is the diminutive, meaning a small correction, and поправление would just be any correction? I ask because I notice these two forms, or whatever they are called, are used with a lot of other verbs as well, and it'd help me alot to be able to understand the general signficance. Thanks.

    By the way...what would you call them? forms? something else? Russian or English description would be helpful...

    I think:

    поправление - the action of correcting
    поправка - a correction

    Am I right?

    Да, ты прав, только слово "поправление" практически не используется.
    In Russian, all nationalities and their corresponding languages start with a lower-case letter.

    Also the word поправка is used to refer the amendment to the constitution of USA.

    Исправление = correction of smth. wrong.
    Поправка = just an amendment, change or modification.
