Which is correct:
"я всегда бегаю", или "я всегда бегу"?
I think it is the former as the word "всегда" implies multiple trips. Please correct my understanding.
Thanks.

Depends on the context.
Я всегда бегаю по утрам по парку.
Я всегда бегу, когда опаздываю.
In Russian, all nationalities and their corresponding languages start with a lower-case letter.
Can you elaborate a little on the function of всегда when used with бегать /бежать. This concept is so difficult to grasp. Thanks.Originally Posted by Оля

I think бегаю (from бегать) is a motion with no concrete direction. For example, around the park.
And бегу (from бежать) is a motion with some more or less concrete direction, with a final goal. For example, "каждое утро я бегу на работу".
In Russian, all nationalities and their corresponding languages start with a lower-case letter.
So the word "always - всегда" doesn't affect which form of the verb to use?Originally Posted by Оля

As you can see from the examples, it doesn't.Originally Posted by tohca

You have the basic dichotomy of motion verbs - directed or nondirected, either of which can be done всегда. Now if you ask about nonmotion verbs, you might get a different answer.
Thanks for the further clarification, especially on the dichotomy of motion verbs and their use with всегда.Originally Posted by chaika
