Thread: царапина in English

how can I say "трещина" in English? I find a lot of words for this.. But I need a popular word which people use in auto sphere - трещина in a plastic, трещина in a headlight.
Please - not a царапина

Ps = which is a popular word for царапина on a car?

Crocodile's answers seem 100% correct to me, and I don't think that there's any difference between US and UK English in this context.

Also, I'm reminded of the old "Hungarian-English Phrasebook" sketch from Monty Python, in which a венгрец входит в табачный магазин чтобы купить сигареты, и говорит по-английски с акцентом, "Ай вилл нот бай зис рекорд, ит из скрэчт." ("I will not buy this record, it is scratched" -- я не буду покупать эту пластинку, на ней царапины.)

But search with the word "Crack" is very funny = a lot of articles about drugs.. (I try to search a translation for crack into Spanish)..
