Thread: Russian blackjack

so i was wondering, is blackjack a popular game in russian casinos? for all the time ive been in moscow, ive never ventured into one!
what about card couting or blackjack teams is it legal or widley practised in Russia or does legislation differ from city to city?
also, if anyone has a link to a glossary of blackjack terms in Russian (double down, bust, stand etc), or a site etc, that would realy interesting for me to look at.

Starting from July 1st, 2009 all Russain casinos are closed after the "Gambling ban low" issue. So you've lost your chance to play blackjack in Moscow.

Most casinos in Moscow had blackjack tables. I have never heard about any blackjack team legislation in Russia, but, as far as I know, during the past decade or so, many casinos (if not all) started using unstandard random decks to fight card counting. Two regular decks are shuffled together, then approximatedly one half of the cards is removed, and the remainder is used by the dealer instead of a regular deck.

thats interesting, kind of stupid but interesting none the less.
i guess most of the gambling will have gone underground now then

I think getting caught cheating in a Russian casino would have you begging to be killed. Like "Old School" Las Vegas. Thinking of the movie "Casino".

technically card couting isnt cheating, but in Russia im sure some sort of a beat down would ensue!
