Erm, I think this sounds retarded, or at the very least, you'd have to get the intonation right if you wanted this to sound ok.

Technically, in formal English, when describing possible future events, you should use the present form of the verb after if:Why is it retarded?
I'll be happy if I catch a ride tomorrow,
But in the North America this rule is not always followed, particularly in speech. I do too feel uncomfortable saying "I'll be happy if I will catch a ride tomorrow", because that's not the way I've been taught.
I also hear "if I was you" (instead of formally correct "If I were you"), etc.
