    россам ?

    "Ах, сегодня так весело россам,
    Самогонного спирта — река."

    Would it be "роса", meaning "dew" ?

    I really do not know the source, but something makes me think that that were россы, the pagan tribe which (by some version) gave the name to Russians.

    But I may be very wrong.

    Yes the tribes, the tribes.
    It can safely be said that россы were the tribe of pagans which name, the tradition has it, gave the birth of the other word - русские. They lived in the area between the Northern Ural and Ros River. They were...tribes. Россы were Russians' forefathers. They were pagans.
