пока не
... На их столе появилось несколько кружек пива. «Куда мы катимся? Надо валить отсюда поскорее, пока не начались пьяные оргии». Олег чувствовал нарастающее внутри раздражение ...
My question is if the form was ... Надо валить отсюда поскорее, пока начались не пьяные оргии
then it would be translated as
I must leave away from here until they started ...
Also why he used пока не and not прежде чем?
For more emphasis?

> пока начались не пьяные оргии
wrong. particle "не" always precedes word which will be inverted. so, it becomes something strange "while sober (not drunk) orgy begins".
> Also why he used пока не and not прежде чем?
> For more emphasis?
Just different ways to express same meaning.

P.S.
I think russian style of particle "не" is much more linear, but flexible than english one.
"Не я не видел не закат". How it will be in english? :)
P.P.S.
"It is not me who didn't see thing which is not sunset"? :)

The problem with "not" in English, is that it comes from germanic languages, where the word "not" goes AFTER the thing it modifies. "I think not.". For whatever reason, the phrasing using "do not" became vastly more popular for negative sentences, and people began to believe that the word goes before what it modifies. So we have both systems. Which is broken.
