    наталья

i decided to read novel "наталья" for now because granatoviy braslet was simply exceedingly boring(I was halfway into the description of General Anosov. I don't care what he did!)

I have a question abotu this passage:
Все это время я тоже снимал квартиру, но вот уже как неделью в общаге: с отцом во взглядах разошелся. Он у меня голова, но об этом позже. (я тоже голова, но об этом еще поже).

All this time I also rented an apartment, but after already a week my dad and I had differing opinions(I'm not sure about that part). He's my head, but about this later. (I'm also a head, but about this later).

What do they mean with голова here? I'm confused.

All this time I also rented an apartment, but after already a week I am in a hostel, becouse my father and I had diffrent opinions. He is a smart man but about this later.( I am also a smart man but about this more(?) later)
    Общага means общежитие - hostel
Голова in this case means a smart person.

One more point: "у меня" в таких предложениях означает что-то вроде "for me", or just means some degree of relation of the subject to the person who are talking (usually informal). It just emphasizes this relation.

"Дочь у меня умница!" =~ I have a daughter; she is great (clever?) <=>
"Моя дочь умница" = My daughter is great.

Ты у меня землю жрать будешь! ~ I'll make you grub the soil!
(if you omit "у меня", it will be like "You'll grub the soil").
Tongue-tied and twisted just an earth-bound misfit, I

I think that in cases like "У меня отец давно на пенсии," "у меня дочь старшеклассница", "у меня рука болит", "у меня пальто всё промокло" it simply means "my father ...", "my daughter...", "my hand...", "my coat".
