Истекает i have had three very diffrent translations for this word from 3 difrent people, what does it mean ?
That's what a dictionary says. It's true :)
истекать, истечь
elapse, expire
время истекает — time is running out
время истекло — time is up
срок векселя истёк — the draft is due
истечь кровью — bleed* to death
ах, кажется иметь смысл теперь, фраза "Истекает город мой кровью" :) так, мой yкраинский друг был прав.
Sort of like "my city is bleeding badly from a dull war", I guess? (full sentence, you forgot the last part :P)
he told me it was somthing like "the city is flowing (bleeding to death) with my blood" or somthing like that. i think this just might be one of those with no exact translation.
No, it's my city, not my blood. See:
Истекает город мой кровью от войны тупой
(мой город истекает кровью от тупой войны)
well, he's ukrainian, what do u expect.
