Отношения Наташи Ионовой и Александра развивались стремительно. Парочку часто видели вместе на различных светских тусовках. Они вели себя там так, что окружающим стало ясно - у них не просто дружба.

The relation between Natsha Ionova and Aleksander developed стремительно (very quickly). The couple are often seen together in various high-class тусовках (hang-outs). They conduct themselves there so that it became clear to associates - they are not just friends.

A few things:
в скором времени = soon
СМИ = средства массовой информации = media

Роман (here) = romance, romantic relationship

"has already made a beloved proposal" - ROFL :P
Look at this phrase again and I am sure you'll see what is wrong here.

Развивались - in this context, I'd say "were developing" rather then "developed" (that's a little thing, actually, and either way will work)

I am still not quite sure how to translate стремительно and тусовках. How useful are these words anyway?

Please, read through the translation. It really sounds bad in English, like a foreigner wrote it... which they did, the original author was Russian, but your job as a translator is to make it acceptable in English. It doesn't sound anything like good English.

Do we say "the romance with John and Mary" in English?
No, we say "the romance between John and Mary" or "the romance of John and Mary"

"Can soon finally end"

Do I need to point out what is wrong with that???

You can be creative, as long as you stick to the original meaning.

I however don't really like the use of the word "закончиться" as it suggests the romance is ending... but it isn't, they are getting married. It's quite funny, as it suggests as soon as you marry, all the romance goes from the relationship.

I'd ditch "finally". "Soon", on the other hand, is needed. "Стремительно" does mean "very quickly/rapidly", but you can use any of the idiomatic means of English to express this idea—just make sure that the translation sounds natural in English.

"Тусовка" can mean places where people gather for some purposes (most often clubs, fashionable bars/restaurants etc), and also the people themselves, especially fashionable/powerful/well-known etc. "The crowd", if you know what I mean.

"Светские тусовки" usually means things like parties, events where people gather, first nights, presentations etc. Social events, social gatherings, stuff like that.

I would translate it like this:

Is Glukoza preparing to get married?
The romance between the popular singer Glukoza and the businessman Alexander can soon end in a magnificent wedding. According to some media [reports], the businessman has already made his proposal. The relationship between Natsha Ionova and Alexander has developed very quickly. The pair has often been spotted together at different gatherings. There they behaved themselves such, that it became clear to the surroundings that they don't have just a simple friendship.

Perhaps "behaved in such a way that"

And is "to the surroundings" really a good way to express this idea in English? Maybe "It became obvious to people around them/to everyone" (Or just "it became obvious" -- it is kind of implied that it became clear to those who were around and so could see their behavior)

Looking at it again, you are right. I am not happy with it either.

Hmm... "They behaved in such a way that it became obvious to people around them that they aren't simply friends" sounds better, don't you agree?

I do however think CAN should be replaced by MAY, or MIGHT.

From Collins Cobuild Dictionary:

romance
1. A romance is a relationship between two people who are in love with each other but who are not married to each other.

So, by the definition, the wedding will be the end of the romance... Still, I agree, it doesn't sound too good. I'd say "will culminate in" or, as TATY suggestes, "climax in" or something like that. By the way, for some reason, it sounds worse in English than in Russian. "Завершиться чем-то" often means "to have something as a result", so when we say "завершится свадьбой", the accent is not on the fact that it ends with the wedding, but on the fact that the outcome of this romance is a wedding.

I think it is perfectly natural to use "to end in". It signifies that the result of the romance was a wedding.

Just like: A car chase may end in a disaster. And what is more analogous than that? Romance is nothing but a car chase and a wedding... well we all know that it is a disaster... :D

But maybe "to end with" should be used over "to end in", but that could be disputed...
