Would aporeciate if someone can kindly correct my poor attempt at translating the song, Alexandra. Thanks.

1. Не сразу всё устроилось, Москва не сразу строилась
Everything is not built immediately, Moscow was not built overnight.

2. Слезам Москва не верила, а верила любви
Moscow does not believe in tears, but in love.

3. Снегами запорошена, листвою заворожена
Dusting with snow, the leaves are charmed.

4. Найдёт тепло прохожему, а деревцу земли
Seeking warmth from passerbys, but to a sapling on the ground.

5. Александра, Александра, это город наш с тобою
Alexandra, Alexandra, a city to call our own.

6. Стали мы его судьбою, ты вглядись в его лицо
We became it's destiny, you gaze intently into his face.

7. Что бы ни было вначале утолит он все печали
No matter how it was in the beginning, it will make you forget all your sorrows.

8. Вот и стало обручальным нам Садовое кольцо
Here it betrothed to us, the Garden Ring.

9. Москву рябины красили, дубы стояли князями
The rowan trees beautify Moscow, the oak trees stand majestically.

10. Но не они, а ясени без спросу наросли
But it's not them but the ash trees that grow without seeking permission.

11. Москва не зря надеется, что вся в листву оденется
Moscow's hopes were not in vain, that all the leaves be dressed.

12. Москва найдёт для деревца хоть краешек земли
Moscow will find for the sapling even to the end of the world.

13. Александра, Александра, что там вьётся перед нами
Alexandra, Alexandra, what is unfurling ahead of us?

14. Это ясень семенами крутит вальс над мостовой
The seeds of the ash will spun a waltz on top of the bridge.

15. Ясень с видом деревенским приобщился к вальсам венским
The ash is accustomed to the view of the Viennese waltz.

16. Он пробьётся, Александра, он надышится Москвой
Alexandra, it breathes and thrives in Moscow.

17. Москва тревог не прятала, Москва видала всякое
Moscow does not hide it's nervousness, Moscow is apparent to all.

18. Но беды все и горести склонялись перед ней
But misfortune and all the grieve bend in front of her.

19. Любовь Москвы не быстрая, но верная и чистая
It takes a while to love Moscow, but it is true and pure.

20. Поскольку материнская любовь других сильней
As long as the there is a strong motherly love for others.

The ash, with its countryside [~unsophisticated] looks learned how to do the the Viennese waltz.

16. Он пробьётся, Александра, он надышится Москвой
It will come through [meaning, it will come overcome any obstacles to its growth, like a seed that fell into a crack in the pavement sometimes breaks the asphalt and comes out], Alexandra, it it will take a good breath of Moscow [or will breath Moscow until it has quenched its thirst for the air, something like that].

17. Москва тревог не прятала, Москва видала всякое
Moscow does not hide it's troubles, Moscow has seen it all.

18. Но беды все и горести склонялись перед ней
But misfortune and all the grieve bend in front of her.

19. Любовь Москвы не быстрая, но верная и чистая
It takes a while for Moscow to get to love someone, but it is true and pure.

20. Поскольку материнская любовь других сильней
Because mother's love is stronger than any other love.

I noticed that this song mentions several types of tree which are seldom encountered in Moscow, but leaves out (no pun intended) the Topol', which in my opinion is a tree that most of the people in Moscow would be down with.
