Hello everyone,
I'm new. I have a very simple, probably laughable request. I hope you are willing to help me though.
I am trying to hand write the name Victoria. In russian I believe it is ВЙКТОРЙЯ
can anyone write this name by hand in cursive? I've attached my attempt.

It is "Виктория", pay attention to that "И" and "Й" are different letters. Cursive of this word is like English "Bukmopu"+"я". There is also difference in English k vs Russian к, but letters "к" and "я" you wrote in acceptable way. And write "и" like overthrown English "n".
It should be Виктория (Й is a different letter).
(+) Your В, К, О, and Я are really good, they all look natural. Well done. ;)
(-) И (or Й in your attempt) lacks a little "leg" to the right, Р should look exactly like English "P" (not R"). Your T looks more like M, though you got the general idea.

should I leave the letters separated like that or should i string them together like true cursive?

All letters are supposed to be interconnected, and that's how kids are tought to do it at school. But in real life many people don't connect the letters, or connect only some of them.
Though if you write really fast, the letters tend to get connected on their own accord, because your pen motions are more sweeping. That's the beauty of coursive.

2: "Виктория" written in the Propisi font, which is probably the best example of a cursive Cyrillic handwriting font
3: "Виктория" written in Arbat font, if you don't want to join the letters up it should look a little bit like this
Things to watch out for:
- make sure you write the letter т like m, not like м (i.e. make sure you use the down-stroke at the beginning)
- the letter и should be written like u, again, don't miss out the down stroke, this time at the end!
