"Вьюжный" is an adjective derived from "вьюга" (snowstorm).
The adjective вьюжный derived from the word вьюга (snowstorm).

Thank you Звездочёт and Polunoshnik for your big help.
One other interesting thing about the noun вьюга -- it derives from the verb вить ("to twist"), which conjugates just like пить ("to drink"):
я вью
ты вьёшь
...
они вьют
So, in other words, вьюга kind of suggests "a twisting, swirling blizzard." (Another word for "snowstorm" is метель, which comes from the verb мести, "to sweep, as with a broom".)
И не забываем про буран http://www.aviamodel.com/files/8198e...0cd15a234f.jpg
Кроме того, snowstorm, оказывается, ещё и буря А.С. Пушкин. Зимний вечер
Пурга́ ещё.
