I like this city very much. It has the best restaurants, theaters, concerts and art in the whole world. In my opinion, it is a very cultured city that has a lot of energy. The people are fascinating. Some are good, some are bad, but always interesting. Unfortunately, I don't want to live there. I only want to visit occaisionally.

He doesn't live in this city, so instead of здесь it should be там as in

Мне очень нравится этот город. там ЛУЧШИЕ в мире рестораны, театры, концерты и искусство. По моему мнению, этот(?) город высокой культуры, ПОЛНЫЙ энергии. Люди просто поразительные. Одни хорошие, другие - плохие, но все интересные. К сожалению, я не хочу там жить. Я только хочу время от времени наведываться.

You are absolutely right, I read only English version, was too lazzy to check Russian translation. And: это город высокой культуры.

I thought about "the best restaurants" and decided frankly it was a polite overstatemant If it was written "the very best", I would probably submit. And I don't really get "искусство" as a russian equivalent of "an art". You barely can say in Russian "в этом городе лучшее искусство".

This is an interesting thing. I don't really know why, but in this structure "этот город" sounds like "that one <city>", not just "that city". So "это город..." is better for some (unknown to me) reason.

But "это город" doesn't even mean "this city". It means "This is a city", which doesn't work in the context. So it may sound better, but certainly isn't right. Also, wouldn't "That one city" be translated as "тот же город"?

I'd say, "Я не хотел бы здесь жить. Я предпочел бы только время от времени наведываться" (unless you are actually already living there of course).

It just does correlate with second part of the sentence. Should be either "это город большой культуры" or "этот город содержит много культуры". Something like that.
