And "Get a hold of" in BrEng, can also mean something else.

What a sticky subject you've brought up. Although I cannot say that I agree with getting involved with someone who doesn't speak the same langauge, love (or lust) sometimes has a language of it's own.

A suggestion for you though, if I may. Instead of having someone translate messages to your "lady love" why don't you instead endeavor to learn the language. Why you say? Well, in the interest of love (or lust) and for maybe a little bit of pride in educating yourself.

I'm not being mean, I swear. I would just rather see a person commit themselves to learning something in the interest of their partner than to be humiliated in the particular format.

If you do not know where to begin in learning, might I suggest your local library. I live in a very small town and our library has many books with introductions to the Russian language.

I have been studying russian for two years. I have no problem reading what people translate for me. It just took me a bit longer to put my thoughts in writing. That why I am seeking help here. Back to the "fark" thing: that guy used the word "d*ck" on me first; so he fired the first shot.

I think you could write it yourself in Russian, yes there will be mistakes and so forth, but at least it would be from you and I am sure she would understand you perfectley. After two years you should know the basic stuff. The alternative is to come here and have half the forum make fun of you, and knowing some of the people around here, I wouldn't bestow that on my worst enemey!

He may have started it but you let it get to you. You really shouldn't. It is your life and you chose the path that you took. But unfortunately, you made it everyones business by having them translate something very personal.
