    Translation

    Hi, everybody!
I understand general meaning of the sentence, but I don't know how it can be normally said in russian. Help me, please.
    here it is:
It was indeed this attitude upon the part of my friend and sertainly not any lack of interesting material which has caused me of late years to lay very few of my records before the public.

I'm not sure the original phrase is entirely correct (e.g. the word "sertainly" is spelled improperly and there are other confusing parts), but the closest translation I can think of would be:

"Именно такое отношение к этому моего друга, а отнюдь не отсутствие интересных тем, привело меня к тому, чтобы в течение последних лет опубликовать лишь очень скромное количество материала."

    Thank you.
(This text was taken from the internet, there are always a lot of misprints...and I also doubt weather it's correct or not)

Что-то наводит меня на мысль, что эти слова принадлежат доктору Ватсону.

P.S. Посмотрела в Гугле. Ну точно.
In Russian, all nationalities and their corresponding languages start with a lower-case letter.

Well, in that case the translation would be: "Подобное поведение моего друга, а вовсе не отсутствие интересного материала и привело к тому, что за последние годы мне редко удавалось публиковать новые записи."
