Some help
I'm writing a letter to a Russian friend and want to say "How are you?"/"How's it going?" as well as "How was your stay in America?" in Russian. Are the following correct for that?
Как дела? Как был твое пребывание в Америке?
This is a very informal letter as we were good friends while she was in America.
Thank you!

Sure, it's all good.
Как дела? Как былo твое пребывание в Америке?
Just one typo. Considered cute when a foreigner writes in Russian, you don't even have correct it.
A Russian person would not say Как былo твое пребывание в Америке? but like I said, it's all good coming from an American. I am not being condescending or anything.
Maybe a Russian would say
Как прошла твоя поездка в Америку? (How did your trip to America go?)
or
Как тебе понравилось в Амeрике? (How did you like it in America).

thank you very much. :D
Considered cute? lol. maybe I'll leave it ;) I am, after all, writing to an 18 year old girl (the same age as me)...

Haha, definitely leave it, then... There is definitely something sexy about hearing a minor mistake from an Eastern European woman... :P
Good luck!
