    help please

Some help please in translating these phrases - so an 8 yr. old child will understand. Please highlight where the stress is. Thanks.

We missed you. We are very happy to see you. We think about you often. Here are some gifts for you. Do you remember how much fun you had in our house? Here is a picture of you and your friends, do you remember them? Some of your friends live near us. Here are some gifts to share with your friends here. We are learning Russian so we can talk with you.
We will see you soon. We love you.

Мы скучали по тебе. Мы очень счастливы тебя увидеть. Мы часто думаем о тебе. Здесь для тебя есть подарки. Ты помнишь, как тебе понравилось у нас дома? Вот фотография - вот ты и твои друзья, ты помнишь их? Кое-кто из твоих друзей живёт рядом с нами. Вот подарки для тебя и для твоих друзей. Мы учим русский, чтобы поговорить с тобой. Мы скоро увидимcя. Мы тебя любим.
    Я так думаю.

Doesn't this only mean, "There are gifts for you here"? Shouldn't zakuski say, "Вот подарки для тебя" (which you have later in the paragraph)?

I think he can use both phrases in his conversation with the kid whatever he might say first - I can imagine such situaton.

Здесь для тебя есть подарки - the phrase he could say putting his arm on the large bag.
And aftherwards taking them out the bag and giving them to the kid - Вот подарки для тебя и для твоих друзей.

I remember myself of eight years of age and know how important can be gifts for the one who rarely had them. So such attantion paid to word gifts doesn't make me surprized at all. Although I think it's a bit childish text for kid of 8 years old even accepting that the words will be told by foreigners.
    Я так думаю.

What about: Я хочу сделать теье подарок - would this be more appropriate for the age.

No - that can also mean that YOU WISH to make a gift

Say I have a gift for you - У меня есть подарок для тебя or У меня есть для тебя подарок!

The most important part of your tirade will be the gift anyway!
Just take it and offer to the kid and say: Это тебе! -This is for you!

Leof shouts the Truth! Believe 'im.

"Я хочу сделать тебе подарок". - it's not what you usually say to a child, but to a close friend maybe.
