    Some help please

    I have written this sentence:

    Они станет более слабыми без иностранной помощи, и российское правительство могло эксплуатировать их.

    Is it correct? Am I allowed to end it on a pronoun (их)

    What you wrote is: Without foreign help they became weaker, and the Russian government could exploit them.

    Is it what you wanted to get? It seems a bit well quite senseless because of the tenses you used: future in the first part of the sentence and past in the second.
