    высшая математика in English

What is the English translation for высшая математика?
According to wikipedia, высшая математика is a course that includes Abstract algebra and Mathematical analysis. So should it be translated as "Abstract algebra and Mathematical analysis" or there is a special term in English?

There was a thread "science teacher" where discussed was the "science" subject which is studied in US junior schools. Here the "science" is a name for a bunch of sciences (physic, chemistry, etc.). So, as the "высшая математика" is not a real field of math but only a bunch of brief basic ideas of different math fields, my guess is that such a subject in a university would be called as just "mathematics".

Department of Mathematics - Course Descriptions

that's an example of how math courses are named. The term "higher math" is not specific enough to have a separate course.

Economics departments might put on courses like Mathematical Methods, Mathematics for Economists, etc.. Seems like each university has their own system.

That is the main point. If you look to any Russian university courses for the students of Math or Physics departments you'll never find this "Higher Math". You'll find the same old courses: Linear Algebra, Differential Equations, Functional Analysis etc. But if you'll look to a department which is not intended to make its students gurus in math (such as History or Economics departments) you'll find only one course for basic mathematics in Russian this course called as "Higher Math" (Высшая математика).

Except that such a course in Economics department may last 2-3 years and will include a bunch of courses that each have their own name in the Mathematics department. So "высшая математика" or "вышка" may include (using the above link).... Calculus I, Calculus II (with probability and matrices), Analytical methods in economics, Calculus III, Calculus IV, Discrete Mathematics I, Discrete Mathematics II, Number theory, Differential Equations, Introduction to Probability, and so on.

In exUSSR usually for industrial engineers there are two different areas of mathematics: "вышка", which is mainly math. analysis, and several disciplines described as "applied mathematics" ("примат"): statistics&regression, probability, discrete math. (combinatorics, graphs, boolean algebra, automata theory), "numerical methods" etc.

"Applied mathematics" is treated as something intermediate between mathematics and informational sciences.
"Россия для русских" - это неправильно. Остальные-то чем лучше?
