What is the meaning of the word "Псарь"?
What is the meaning of the word "Псарь"?
Person who looks after hounds and takes part in hunt (brings to bay).
Большое спасибо. Но, что точное смысл выражений "looks after hounds" и "brings to bay"? (Are these sentences correctly written?)
I use vocabulary, so I can write a piece of shit.
Looks after hounds - I meant that when not at the hunt, person feeds hounds, looks how they are, prepares them for hunt.
Brings to bay - At the wolf's hunt, wolf is driven to the hunters by other people.
Thanks for the explanations.
Ok, so I have written nonsense. Can someone point out the many errors I have made?
псарь = huntsman
The suffix "-арь" usially means the man who works with the subject.
So, "псарь" = "пёс" + "-арь", is man who take care of the dogs. (Dogs for hunting in the rich houses.)
-арь = -er
(the same suffix)
