i dont speak any russian, only english, i have a phrase book, but that doesn't tell me.
so could anybody help.

If it's Eastern or Southern Ukraine it's pretty possible that her native language is Russian.
Though I'm sure she'll appreciate your efforts. :wink:
If he's going to propose to her, he probably knows her well enough to know what her native language is, don't you think?

It could be just me, but I have a hunch that he doesn't read cyrillic. maybe we should transliterate it to the latin alphabet?
But I do think it is important, MightyG3, to find out if she speaks Ukranian or Russian, because there are many Ukranians who only speak Russian.
All Ukrainians understand both though. But yes, it is good to know what your wife's native language is :) although when I am asked about it I often answer that both are.Quote:
