A long shot

Hi all,

I was wondering if anyone can help me with this. I was saying goodbye to a Russian friend yesterday and he said "Prashy".

He wouldn't translate it for me and I couldn't find it in the dictionary.

Not too sure how it's spelt in Russian but it sounded like 'Pra' and then the English 'shy'.

If anyone knows what it could be it would be great!!

So it sounds like "прощай". A form of farewell usually said when the sayer thinks s/he will not see you ever...

It means literally - 'forgive' (in imperative).

Not always. Maybe s/he said it just without thinking. ;)
It rhymes with "goodbye".

It happens. That's why I put "usually" before the verb. :)

Since he would not translate it, I think it is a good bet it meant he would not see you again. He didn't want to hurt your feelings, or just was too chicken to be honest!
