Usually performing that is called "качать пресс". But actually it refers to any kind of "abdominal exercises". If there is a specific term for it in Russian, it doesn't seem to be widely known.
"Россия для русских" - это неправильно. Остальные-то чем лучше?

Does скручивание likewise imply any kind of abdominal exercise? Or is the term not widely known?

Also does подъем корпуса get the idea across? Or is that phrase not widely known either?

    My vote:
    crunch - скручивание
sit up - подъем туловища из положения лежа (на спине

Never met word "скручивание" applied to sport exercises. Probably I am very far from sport.

Actually, if I use the Hebrew name for it a lot of people who haven't done gym exercising or much sport in their lives might not be sure how this exercise is called either, I think. I'll stick to "качать пресс" for general purposes for now
