    Help with translation

    Hi all,

Can anyone translate the following English into Russian for me? (please do not use the Russian characters because I can't read them yet. If you can use English letters, that would be great!)

"I hope the sales meeting was not too long or boring. How are you today?"

    Thanks so much!

There are two ways: direct translation and correct translation

Direct: Nadejus', vstrecha po prodazham byla ne slishkom dolgoj i skuchnoj. Kak pozhivaesh' segodnia? (Надеюсь, встреча по продажам была не слишком долгой и скучной. Как поживаешь сегодня?)

(Read the letters as latin ones, except for ch, sh, zh etc. Apostrophe means soft sign).

More correct way will be eliminating "sales", if it is not essential - the russian term is long and looks awkward in conversation. Necessary 'officiality' (just 'meeting' is too general word) can be achieved by replacing 'meeting' with some sort of 'consultation'. Note that the greeting "how are you" is regarded in Russian rather as a real question. I would replace it with usual greeting in the beginning or at least shorter question (e.g. How's it going?). So:

Nadejus', soweschanie bylo ne slishkom dolgim i skuchnym. Kak u tebia dela? (Надеюсь, совещание было не слишком долгим и скучным. Как у тебя дела?)

Thank you so much! One more question:

What does this mean in English?

    Kiva! Puhumme Suomea!

It means, "Nice! We speak Finnish!"

Now never ask about another language again.
