Re: Help with Signed Painting, Please!
A few words are abbreviated to their first letters, so I can guess them only (they are in italics).
Balakshin E.G. (Балакшин E.Г.) <- a painter
YOB - 1962
canvas, oil, 67x78 (cm)
"Still life with elder(-berry)"
The painting was made in 1989.

Thanks a lot for your help, really appreciated
Just wondering, are you sure about the (-berry) part? The actual picture is a still life and I dont see anything that looks like elderberry unless it is the branches, maybe it refers to the actual tea or something?
thanks

Yes, it refers to the branches. In Russian the same word can be used to denote elder (as a plant in general, its branches, etc.) and elderberries, so without seeing the actual painting I could not say what the painter meant.
