Как сказать по-анлийски эти слова песни Земфиры

    предлагаю не прятать
    и уж точно не прятаться
    если верить киношникам
    мы загружены в матрицу

i know most of the words, but they just don't make sense together

Quick translation(I'm not guaranteeing to keep the feel of it):

Don't hide anything, take my advice
And that being said, don't hide(in the sense of hiding yourself somewhere)
If we're to believe the moviemen
We're all stuck in the matrix

    2. (вн.; на обсуждение, выбор) propose (d.)
предлагать кому-л. высказаться — invite smb. to speak
предлагать тост (за вн.) — propose a toast (to)
предлагать чью-л. кандидатуру — propose smb. for election
предлагать вниманию — bring* forward (d.), call attention (to)
предлагать вопрос кому-л. — put* a question to smb., ask smb. a question, ask a question of smb.
предлагать задачу (дт.) — set* a problem (i.)
предлагать новый план (дт.) — suggest a new scheme / plan (to)
    3. (дт. + инф.; советовать) suggest (that ... should)
он предложил ей пойти туда — he suggested that the should go there
    4. (дт. + инф.; предписывать) order (i. + to inf.)
ему предложили закончить работу в недельный срок — he was ordered to finish his work in a week
предлагать руку и сердце (дт.) — make* a proposal of marriage (to)
Maybe the first line should be

I suggest you don't hide anything

But Pravit is the Master so I may be wrong.

"I suggest that you don't hide anything" is the correct literal translation. But literal translations are rather ugly when you try to translate songs or poems, so I tried to be a little loose with it.

    I agree Pravit.
Sometimes direct literal translations can be a bit awkward.

Here is the title of a song from Verka Serduchka.

    Мне так нужна любовь твоя.
to me so need love your.

It took me a minute to figure it out when I first heard it.

kwatts, if you're studying Russian formally (be it from a book or with a teacher), you should find discussion of this (dative) + нужен/нужна/нужно + (nominative or infinitive) in the early stages. It's a very important part of standard Russian.
Word by word translation is not the way to try to learn this language (or any other, although you'll get further like that in French/Spanish/German).

The first two lines of the song above are, I guess, impossible to convey 100% accurately without creating stylistic awkwardness ... I certainly can't meaningfully improve on Pravit's attempt.

waxwing/kwatts: Did I get it right if I translate the Kwatts quote by saying:

To me it's neccesary to love you, or maybe more comfortably as written in several other songs "I have to love you so!"

    ?

"I need your love so much" is probably fine.
Mnye nuzhna means "I need". There is also "Mnye nado", the difference between the two is a bit subtle (I can never remember the difference actually).

Notice "tvoya lyubov'" - it's a noun, not a verb, so it can't be "I have to love you"

I understand the use of нужен/нужна/нужно, but thanks anyway.
I just thought it would be a good idea for schildt to translate the Serduchka song.

When I translate songs for myself, I try to keep the word order as close as possible to the Russian text.

предлагаю не прятать = Don't hide anything, take my advice

A novice might confuse this and think "предлагаю" = "hide" and "прятать" = "take my advice". Whereas in the literal translation "I suggest not to hide", this cannot be confused. If the actual meaning differs from the literal translation, the student must learn both translations.

Just my opinion. I may be wrong.

I have confidence in Nicko's abilities. After all, he did take that picture of the row of trees which I liked.

Oh, I guess I'm confusing you with another guy named Nick who liked Zemfira.
