Hi guys, I am working through the fifth section of Paul Cubberly's "Handbook of Russian Affixes"
This excercise basically is trying to differintiate the subtle or not so subtle semantic meaning changes when one adds on various Russian Prefixes to the same root.
I need some help properly translating a set.
Here's what i wrote in my notebook
Натолкнуться на препятствие vs Столкнуться с товарищем
На- on толкнуть - shove ся- self на- on припятствие- obstacle
E.g) Мы сегодня натолкнуемся на препятствие.
Today we are going to strike against the obstacle.
С- Down/ off толкнуть- shove с товарищею- with a comrade
E.g) Раньше это утро я столкнулись с товарищем в мою путю к работе.
Earlier this morning i ran into a comrade on my way to work.
I made these sentences up on my own, just trying to grasp the concept of these verbs.
