нетерпение is one of those words that does not translate well into English. I personally have always used "impatient", but unfortunately in English that seems to imply that I am a bit upset that I have to wait.I believe "anticipation" is the right word here. "Anticipation" implies that something (pleasant) is expected to happen. Something is supposed to happen and I am waiting for it. It is a sure thing.
