Thread: afterglow

English uses the word "afterglow" to describe the warm, relaxed feeling after making love. Does Russian have an equivalent?

OK, it's possible. But this word is used to express not only relaxed feeling after making love.
AFAIK, there is no appropriate word to translate afterglow exactly. I think, блаженство is the most suitable word.

I am English and have never heard of this expression. Anyway, I always feel dirrty after sex.

There is no such word in Russian. No such feeling either . But I can suggest rather informal expression "блаженный отходняк" . Please, somebody, translate it back in English...

According to Lingvo, "blissful katzenjammer". This word looks German, but it is English. I've never heard it...

According to Encarta Dictionary, katzenjammer is a hangover, all right, but only a bad, bad hangover. Is there such thing as a good and pleasent hangover? Well, probably it is an afterglow...
