Some problems with the word adopt:
1. (Bukvalno): He decided to adopt an orphan.
2. (V perenosnom znachenii): Russia is expected to a adopt a systme of floating exchange rates (Плавающий валютный курс) by the end of 2016
3. (V perenosnom znachenii): The philosophers of the late Alexandrian Period do not adopt the thinking of the philosophers of the early Alexandrian Period even if in some scripts they seem to angree
4. (V perenosnom znachenii): мормоны do not adopt the contemporary way of living.

1. Он решил усыновить* сироту
2. От России ожидают принятия системы плавающих обменных курсов к концу 2016 года
3. Философы позднего александрийского периода не принимали учения философов раннего александрийского периода, хотя может показаться, что в некоторых манускриптах они с ними соглашались.
4. Мормоны не приемлют современного образа жизни.

* can be удочерить (if it's a girl).

(«усыновить» if the orphan is male; «удочерить» if the orphan is female)

I don’t know what определённая форма is. If you mean неопределённая форма (infinitive), it’s принять.
Imperfect infinitive is принимать.

Oh, I’m not sure if it exists in modern language.
Usually, the word is used in personal forms:
я приемлю
ты приемлешь
он приемлет
мы приемлем
вы приемлете
они приемлют

Btw, the word is a bit old-fashioned. Is’s used not very often.
