Thread: Каждой луже по своей луне

This is a line from a t.A.T.u. song. And it is an individual sentence. The lines around it don't seem to offer anything in way of context.

Каждой луже must be the dative yes, so like "to each puddle".

Пo means so many things I don't know what this is. Also своей луне сould be prepositional or dative.

Is it something about a moon reflecting in each puddle?

The line before is Никому никто не виноват.Никто не виноват - No one is to blame. I find it hard to put the whole sentence into English.

Isn't it basically saying, No one is to blame, to anyone. Like "Nobody thinks anyone is to blame"?

Grammatical construction would be
никто ни перед кем не виноват
It's a song, it doesn't necessarily need to be grammatically correct

I don't know about Отпускать/Отпустить with the dative...
Also can those two lines go together, or are they seperate sentences?

It doesn't. If I have done something that hurt you (I am to blame), it isn't equal to "I apologise to you"

It does not have one definite meaning, so, one of possible general explanations is "It will not(or never) ease/This sadness will not let quit neither you, nor me"

My dictionary (Oxford Russian - English) says:

Я перед вами виноват = I must apologise to you.

Yes, it's correct, "извините, виноват" is like to say "sorry, my fault"
"Виноват" means "guilty" and not "apology"

The literal translation you suggested in the beginning Isn't it basically saying, No one is to blame, to anyone. Like "Nobody thinks anyone is to blame"? is ok.

Perhaps it's one of translation difficulties, like the word "обида" which has no exact equivalent in English as well

Well you know better than to take a phrase in the dictionary and apply it to other situations! That phrase is only an equivalent, it doesn't literally mean that he has to apologise. It means, basically: "I am the one who is at fault" ~= "I apologize (z for America!!))"

Here: "никто ни перед кем не виноват" is like "It's nobody's fault"

its just another way people tweak the language. its applicable, and sometimes sounds funny if used right.
