Thread: Русское кафе?

Hello,

I was thinking if we made up a sort of "cafe", where you can practice real-life situations. What I'm talking about is like an RPG, where people come to cafe, order and talk to other people who are around. This would also be good for people like me who know only the very basic grammar etc.

What do you think? I think this would only need a thread of its own.

I think it's hard to have a кафе without food. Have you a way of PMing me a cup of tea and cheesecake?

I wouldn't call it a cafe. Well, it more resembles a chat within a forum thread.

I'm not sure whether you grasped the idea or not. The idea is roleplaying: people pretend that they're having a conversation over a cup of coffee in a nice cafe. You don't need pics of everything you eat -- only imagination.

Yes, somewhat like a chat-in-a-thread.

I think the idea of roleplaying is interesting, but why cafe? It's kinda boring. Why not a plane, a hospital, a jail, a deserted island, a fairy tale, etc?

Hah, I don't care -- cafe was but an example.

Cafe is, however, good, because:
-it is a static place where people can come and go, which is good considering how forums are used. If it was a deserted island, it would only involve a certain group that would need to be very active.
-one doesn't need too special vocabulary to manage. A hospital...?

cafe sounds fine to me, give it a try, my russian is aslo VERY basic, any practice I can get is usefull!

Might as well make the setting a Turkish prison if there's not going to be food and drink gratis...

Hmm,.....Yes! I like this idea of the RPG and ordering people around. BUT who is gonna correct all our stupid mistakes in Russian if we all are just a bunch of sucky Russian speakers carrying RPG's???? Hmmm?
