закаляться - diff question
I know there's a thread about this word already ... but I have different questions.
Can/is this word used in such a sense as to mean to toughen in a mental and emotional way? Like to become strong or be a man or stand firmly?
If it doesn't work that way, what's the verb that means roughly stand firmly or be a man or something of the like?
Also what would the imperative forms of zakalyatsa be?
Thanks in advance

В этом значении часто говорят "закалять характер", "закалять волю" и т.п.

True. "Закаляться" without any additional words most likely would be understood as "to make efforts to be helthier and more resistant to the cold" (taking cold shower regularly, for example).
"Закаливание" (in Russia) is considered an important part of being a healthy person. Parents are often advised to "заниматься закаливанием" of their children, it's supposed to increase one's immunity to disease.
Закаляйся, если хочешь быть здоров (с)
