    Большой привет из Казани!!

    Hello!

Despite the german train strike I made it to the airport in time to fly to Kazan!!

Currently I am waiting for my girl friend to arrive and tomorrow I will try memorize some of the toasts I found with your help for the birthday of her father.

The weather here is friendlier than I expected... or is it just my mood ?

    Have a great time,
    Rainer

You both have a great time, too!

    Thank you!

But I wanted to say that I wish both of them to have a great time too. How should I compose such a phrase?

You just need to change the word order.

"You both have a great time, too."

It puts the subject before the verb, which is usually how we phrase things.

Thank you all for your good wishes!!

I had a truly fantastic time in Kazan and it was hard to leave after only a few days.

It was not possible for me to write earlier since the WiFi in my hotel stopped working.

The first day I went to the Sahara Club with my girl friend. There is a restaurant and a club / bar area in the basement. They played mainly techno (I like techno, but was surprised). Also there was a rather erotic show program to see - this seems to be very common in Russia. We were alternating between dancing and eating ice cream or salads in the restaurant upstairs and had a wonderful night.

The next day was indeed the 60th birthday of her father. I invited them to a beautiful restaurant ("Ticherman" tartar and international cusine), also with dancefloor and a splendid show. The food was good, much better than what I was used to from my visits to Tashkent restaurants. The music which was played in between dance and show performances was an enjoyable mix of russian and non-russian songs. We all were very happy and stayed until the restaurant was closed.

On sunday my girl friend had to get up at 7h to tidy and prepare salads and the main course for the guest who were invited to the "home" part of the birthday celebrations. I tried to help but my offers were turned down several times... I can't say I was to unhappy to be able to sleep some more since I felt still very tired. Fortunately she managed it all in time, wow! I could die for that salad with beet root and hering (in German it is called "Hering unterm Pelz")... the guests came, we had an extensive, really tasty meal and more to drink. Another good opportunity for me to practice my russian.

All people i met were really friendly and seemed to be very interested in Germany. We had no boring moments and can always joke together despite the language barrier, the only difficult thing is leaving. I wish I could go back next weekend.

With some luck (we still need a visa) my girl friend will come to Germany for Christmas and New Year, so I can finally show her Germany introduce her to my family.

    Bye!

Yes it is a nice one indeed!
It's weird to know that the erotic show can be seen in the Islamic Capital of Russia.

Islamic? I know what you meant, but... hold your horses, you take it too far!

Oh, yeah, that's my favorite! I also like Olivier salad, even though I thought I wouldn't. Bologna, peas, and pickles?
