Hello,
Can someone tell me how to find the captain's log of Алексей Ильич Чириков in its original form? Is there a published version? Also, any books you would recommend on the second kamchatka expedition would be great.
Thanks!

Okay, I don't know if this will help, but this is the Russian Explorer who discovered Southeast Alaska. He was in command of one of the two ships under the ultimate command of Vitus Berring which were tasked with the establishment of the Russian America Company for fur trading and economic exploitation of Alaska.
I would LOVE ANY information about this man's log book. It is a fact that he kept a detailed log book throughout his expeditions. On June 15, 1741, he sent a crew of eleven men to search the new shoreline he had just come upon for water. After six days, the men had not returned, and so he sent a second party. This second party also disappeared/ In the end, he lifted anchor and moved on.
