    working visa

hello hello! if anyone knows anything about the visa, please let me know!

    basically ,this is my plan.

i want to fly to moscow to find some work there. (i want to visit russia for a long period of time) so i wanted to buy a 2 week ticket to look for work in moscow during the 2 weeks. If i found nothing, i'd simply fly back to canada, no big deal.

but apperently i can't work without a working visa, and I can't get a visa without someone to sponsor me.

is there any way my plan could work? like how is it possible to switch my visiting visa to a working visa while im there without waiting months?

if u have any answers for my plan to work, it would be great!

    thanks in advance

I think if you find a job in a multinational corporation (Deloite & Touche, Microsoft, Hilton, McDonalds) a visa won't be a problem in any country.

anyways, what i meant to ask is.. if i go there on a visitors visa and find a company that can hire me, can i get a work permit in the following days?

If you target for the service staff in McDonalds, you don't need any visa I think

There is a package of recommendations somewhere in this blog: http://england-mosocw.blogspot.com/
"Россия для русских" - это неправильно. Остальные-то чем лучше?

Yeah well this is the reality of the world for most people. You can't just turn up somewhere and decide that you are going to live / work there.

You have a problem, because in order to quickly get a job you need either:

    1) Be able to do a job that a Russian person probably couldn't do as well as you could. That would have to be something where the combination of your language and 'cultural' skills + professional experience was superior to that of Russians. Likely this would be in a multinational corporation or an academic / teaching job. The organisation would then sponsor your visa.

    2) You could apply "any" job, i.e. at a restaurant or as a builder --- or even a regular white collar job. But you would be competing for this job with Russians, people from ex USSR countries etc... They would be fluent Russian speakers whereas you probably aren't yet....

    3) Overstay your visa and be an illegal immigrant. Take any crappy job on offer. Dangerous and poorly paid -- likely you'd be found out and forced to leave immediately.

    Re: working visa

Just get a Business visa. You can stay for up to three months (you won't find a job in two weeks here). It is illegal to work on A business visa but nobody cares. Its illegal to work on a Student visa as well and I make more money than a lot of Russians do right now perfectly illegally.

Just get a job teaching English like everybody else (base pay is around 20 bucks an hour even if you have no experience) and see where that gets you.

The only other thing I can think of is finding some western companies in Moscow (or wherever you want to live) and ask them if they have any extra working visas.

Companies have quotas for the amount of foreigners they are allowed to invite to work and if they don't fill that quota they usually just sell them to whoever wants them regardless of if you will work for them or not (or even work at all).

It can be tricky but if you apply yourself its not very hard. The hard part is finding that someone or something that can get you in after that its all cake.

Lets say you come here and after month you find a job using your business visa. Once you're here whoever you work for you can just ask them to give you an invitation to work, you go back to canada for 2 weeks, and bam, come back with your perfectly legal work visa.

    Good luck
