    Who is your favorite Russian?

    Mine is of course Plushenko

He is the only man to do a quad tripple tripple, and a Bielman spin in competition.

If you guys don't have any favorite Russians I know a lot more skaters and I will keep putting them up. That is a threat.

I have not watched figure skating for many years. But back when I was an avid fan, there was a great young female Ukrainian figure skater named Oksana Baiul. She won the Olympic gold medal as a huge underdog against the Americans in 1994 at age 16. The favored Americans were Tonya Harding and Nancy Kerrigan. You may have heard the story about these two skaters.

My favorite male skater is Scott Hamilton.

I LOVED Oksana. Tonya Harding was the last American woman to land a tripple axle in competition until this year when Kimmie Meissner landed one!!!

I know. I wanted to hear about some others. The skaters are just to irritate you people so you will post something else. Because this board is dying.

Ok. IMHO, one of the greatest Russians was Alexandr Alekhine, fourth champion of the world in chess. I think, he was the greatest chess player in the history of this amazing game.

Really? I can show another genius of the past Nikolai Ivanovich Lobachevsky, great mathematician. Only brilliant old man Gauss could understand Lobachevsky's new geometry, other people called him a madman. But issue estimated at his true worth. (Is this sentence right?)

Kasparov... Now there is a chess player... anyone who has the balls to play against a Supercomputer, and even win against it (albeit not overall, but he did win some matches) is a super genius in my book...

Well...you guys can have all your great geniuses and figure skating people but I, being the adolescence that I am, will have to stick with Lena Katina and Yulia Volkova! :O
