Where to go from here?

I have a dilemma, and I'm wondering if any of you have some advice. I'm looking for advice on both sides, be it Russians or Americans.

I'm finishing my degree in December (BA in Russian), and my language courses are finished, sadly. I'm getting conversational help - whenever I can go on Skype, at least - but I know that I need to work on vocabulary. I bought some books that our Russian Culture Club had a book sale with, and a lot of them are grammar/vocabulary books, as well as children's books. I have all this vocabulary, but I'm not sure how to go about using it.

Do I put everything into flash cards and study? Do I write sentences with the words and try to remember them that way? Do I just try to use them when I get conversation practice? I'm working on trying to get a job abroad in Russia or Ukraine for immersion, but other than that, I'm trying to continue my language skills and since I don't have the same resources I had in my courses, I'm at a loss. Can anyone help?

If you want to build vocabulary you need to watch news and movies in Russian with Russian subtitles. You also might want to find Russian language society in your place and meet face to face with Russian speaking people (meetup.com maybe), this should really help.

There are different ways we absorb information, they are visual, auditory, kinesthetic and logical (in Russian it is called дискретная репрезентативная система and i'm not sure about the English tearm as in English only three are mantioned ussualy) . Usually one of the chanels works better for a person. You have to find out what type works for you the best and use it while learning. If you are a visual, use pictures, try to asociate words with some immagese in your head. If you are an audile, listen to texts and dialogs and talk to people. If you are a kinesthetic learner than different games will work better for you, when you do something on your own, you will probably learn faster reapiting information while doing different daily stuff. And logical learners are the slowest learners, they need much time to memorise things because they learn something only when logical schems are built in their heads and related to things they new previously, different tables will help to learn new information in this case.

The easiest way to study language is living in this-language-speakin'-country. Come to Ulan-Ude and learn Russian here! :) 70 miles to Baikal, friendly people on the streets (mostly), and позы as the most popular food. Well, we had accidents in the past - an Australian traveler was nearly killed by bandits, but it was just one time, and other 230000 tourist in year are safe. Just do not walk out of the streets, do not walk in "квартала" alone and you will be safe.
Yesterday me and my friends presented a cake to American traveler. Just for lulz. We are the members of "Лига Добра" = League of Kindness.
